Moms, would you like a story-like devotional for your fall reading?

Walking Forward - Discoveries in Freedom and Forgiveness is a book that is perfect for busy moms.

I believe moms have to do the most forgiving of any person on the planet!  These stories are relatively short, and questions at the end of each chapter will lead you into prayer and personal reflection.

Now that school has started and the kids are out of the house, in some cases, or occupied with school work at home, take some time to delve into a new devotional.

Special price:  $8.00 including shipping for a signed copy!  Leave a comment with your information...it will NOT appear on this blog...and I will get a copy out to you ASAP!

Summer reading for young adults

Here is one of the biggest challenges parents face in the summer months:

Getting their children to read...especially their teenagers!

My book, Walking Forward - Discoveries in Freedom and Forgiveness would be a fantastic book to get for your teenager.  The chapters are short (all teens like short); each chapter tells a real-life story (all teens like stories); and there are a couple of short questions at the end of each chapter which you could engage in discussion about the book with your teen...(parents love when their teens talk!)

Here is my summer special:  2 copies of the book for just $15, which includes shipping!  (Retail at Xulon Press is $14.99 per copy!)  Feel free to email me or leave a comment on this blog if you want to take advantage of this great offer.

Recommended book

Author Cliff Graham pulls no punches when it comes to telling the biblical story of David and his mighty fighting men.

I strongly encourage you to get copies of his books Day of War and Covenant of War as well as the series of short stories he was written.  The third book in the series of five, Song of War is due to be released this summer.  Personally, I cannot WAIT to read it!

You can buy your copies here:  Lion of War Series or At the LOW Website.

Matthew 18 and forgiveness

This morning, I was floored again by Jesus' words to the unmerciful servant.  "And his master was angry and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.  So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses."  (Mt. 18:35)

Just a few verses earlier, the master had decided that the servant who owed him money would be SOLD...along with his wife and children.  As terrible as this sounds, it's much better than being delivered to torturers, which is the man's fate now solely because he chose not to forgive.

Let these words sink deeply into your spirit.

Challenges of forgiveness

I had to extend forgiveness again.  You would think it would get easier, but for some reason, I always feel like I am the 'loser' when extending forgiveness.

What a lie I have bought into when I slip into this kind of thinking.  Forgiveness is the ultimate "god-like" thing that we can do as humans.  Jesus, fully man on the cross, cried out:  "Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they do!"  If the Son of God at the pinnacle of pain, falsely accused, beaten to within inches of His life by those He created can forgive, then I should be able to forgive.  And by His grace, I can!

Jesus was serious when He said we are to forgive 70 times 7...in other words, there is no limit to the number of times we are to forgive someone.  None.  FOLLOW THIS LINK to get your copy of Walking Forward - Discoveries in Freedom and Forgiveness.  It's an easy read, everyday stories from everyday life, where God showed up with lessons about forgiveness and walking into freedom.    Or, if you prefer to receive a signed copy from me, the author, send me a comment on this blog with your contact information (it won't be published), and I can send you your copy.

Training in forgiveness

What a blog title.  Training in forgiveness?  Do we really need to be trained in forgiveness?

Yes, is the short answer.

We received key training yesterday at Menorah Christian Center on covenant community, and at the heart of it is this:

Love is the key to the whole thing (covenant community).  And love is sustained by ongoing forgiveness.  Moving forward in risk, being willing to make mistakes and it's all bathed in forgiveness.

I couldn't help but think about my book, along with about 100 others that have been written on the topic of forgiveness, and how each of us needs to be reminded every day that to live in relationship with people means to live in ever-constant forgiveness.
